The word numerical in computer numerical control implies that people
working with CNC machine tools must possess a good understanding of math. But
frankly speaking, most CNC people need little more than the ability to add,
subtract, multiply, and divide. Some applications do require an understanding
of right-angle trigonometry.
In this eBook, we go through the various arithmetic operations a CNC-person
must understand in an application-based manner. That is, we're not teaching math
for math's sake. Instead, we stress the application that requires math to be
done as importantly as the math itself. For example, when we present the basic
arithmetic operators (add, subtract, multiply, and divide), the examples we use
are related to interpreting tolerances and making offset adjustments. So you'll
be learning as much about holding size on CNC machine tools as you will about
basic arithmetic operators.
How does it work?
Shop Math For CNC is an e-Book. Unlike books printed on paper,
this eBook is published in electronic media. It is delivered to you in
the form of a computer file. Once you purchase, we can email it to you (if your
email service provider allows attachments and large files) or we can provide a
password-protected download link to a file transfer protocol (FTP) site. Note
that we can ship it to you on a CD-rom disk, but the price is higher - and
there will be a shipping charge.
Important note: Since this product is an eBook, it can only be viewed
on the display screen of your computer. You cannot print this eBook.
View it on your laptop or desktop PC!
Machining Operations Performed On Machining Centers is displayed with
Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is a free software program - and it's likely
that your computer already has it. If you don't have Adobe Reader, you can
click to following link to get it.
Navigation is easy
Navigating an eBook is much easier than finding material in a traditional
book. The table of contents is actually a series of hypertext links, meaning
you can immediately get to the topic in question. And, there's no need for an
index since you can use the Find (search) function of Adobe Reader to find any
term or word you want to know more about. It's still easy to page through the
eBook in the traditional manner - and to go quickly back through most recently
viewed pages (just as you can with the back button in any Internet
browser).
