Entry level CNC people are commonly recruited from backgrounds that do not include basic machining practice skills. CNC people must, of course, understand machining operations before they can make effective use of CNC machining centers. This practical Mini-Vid quickly acquaints the viewer with the machining operations that can be performed on machining centers.

First we show hole machining operations, including center drilling, spot drilling, drilling, countersinking, tapping, boring, reaming, and counter-boring. Next we discuss milling operations, showing the terminology related to milling as well as the tools used. Finally, we discuss how cutting conditions (speeds & feeds) are determined.
