Frankly speaking, there won't be much left for you to enter. After selecting
the machine and material (once per job), you'll select the cutting tool and
enter information pertinent to the machining operation you wish to perform.
For the carbide end mill shown in the illustration below, for example,
you'll enter the cutter diameter, the pass length, and the number of passes.
You might also have to change the number of flutes if this tool doesn't have
four flutes. All other fields will be determined for you - taken from the
Configuration File, the Material File, and the Machine File.
Do note that you can modify any of the default information at any time - and
all "output data" (like rpm speed, ipm feedrate, times, and
horsepower) will be instantly updated. If you don't agree with a speed or feed
(maybe you know the workholding setup won't be as rigid as it should be), you
can simply change it on this page. As soon as you do, all other information on
the page will be updated.
