The CNC Operations menu selection is the fourth menu of the Machinist
ToolBox startup page. It includes three choices:
Time Studies
NC Quick Code
Advanced Thread Milling
Time Studies
After selecting the type of machining
to be done (mill/drill or turn), you will be asked a series of questions about
each operation to be performed. When finished, Machinist ToolBox will create a
.txt file that includes data (including time) for each operation described.
NC Quick Code
This helpful
function will actually generate CNC commands (placing them in a text file) for
five popular types of machining operations (Peck drilling on a lathe, bolt
circle drilling, grid drilling, pocketing, and thread milling (one pass). You
plug in some simple variables, telling Machinist ToolBox what you know about
the operation and click the Post NC Code button. You'll be shown the G code in
a text file that you can save, print, or copy and paste.
Advanced thread milling
The thread
milling done in NC Quick Code (shown earlier) assumes you are using a thread
mill that can machine the entire thread in one pass. With this thread milling
function, you are using a thread mill that must make one full revolution around
the thread per thread pitch.
